Chants

I am the keeper of the chant
connecting everyone with breath,
song, silence and word.
I am inspired by the quiet
that the drummers create
and I use the chant for creation
and connection and my highest
aspiration is for collective
interconnection.

The pathway of voice welcomes people to express what is in hearts through vocal percussion - sacred tones, chants, spoken word and silence. By attending to what is happening, moment to moment we are inspired to know what the next song, sound or words could be – offering that which is most sacred, meaningful and authentic.

Chants are one way of contributing to fire circles.  
You may wish to learn some of those created at other fire circles or you may be inspired to create your own.

earth sings songs of joy
the universe pulses with richer creation
elements on earth respond
feel the expansion of the energies
as the feet of the dancers
who have danced
since the beginning of creation
with their feet on the earth
and open hearts
join with the hearts
of those who are dancing now
with their feet on the earth
and open hearts
the pulse of life expands
and the feet of those
who are to come
know that
the space
awaits them

for the drummers
who have drummed
with their hands on the skins
of the drum
with an open heart
and rhythm in their hands
join with all the drummers
who have drummed
with open hearts
their hands on the skins
creating the pulse
of the feet of the dancers
since the beginning of creation

the beat of the feminine
sparked by the masculine
the beat of the earth

as the rhythms cycle the voices
of the people
lift up
as the chant begins to rise
singing in praise
and gratitude
to the ones who have walked
this earth

with an open heart

feel the tears of gratitude
well in their eyes that have witnessed
